The notion of replacing a tooth with a new one immediately after a tooth extraction is very attractive to all of us. It is important to keep the "status quo" whenever possible -- keeping us from growing old. Now, a dental implant system has been invented and produced to accomplish this dream.
The Sargon® Immediate Load ImplantTM was produced in the early 1990's and has a significant history for being one of the most successful dental implant systems available to the dental community.
The Sargon System is an apically expandable quintapodal root form dental implant fixture. The most effective use is placement immediately after extraction of a non-restorable tooth by extending the tooth socket with an osteotomy and tap (threading) system to facilitate the insertion of the implant. Once the implant is properly positioned, the base of the fixture is expanded to secure and stabilize the artificial root. This stabilization allows the fixture to be loaded. For instance, a provisional tooth can be placed on the implant immediately after placement.
